My name is Shaheda Umar. I am the Gujarati Bilingual Teacher at Volta school. I teach students from grades 1-8 coming from India. I started teaching at Murphy Elementary School in November of 1986. I taught there for ten years, and then came to Volta in 1996, where I am still teaching Gujarati Bilingual students. At Volta, I also taught second grade for six years. Volta is like my second home. It gives me great pleasure, teaching students whose second language is English, and making a difference in their lives. My students feel very homely when they come to my classroom. Teaching is my passion and it will always remain.
મારૂ નામ મીસીસ શાહેદા ઉમર છે. હું અહીં વોલ્ટા સ્કૂલ માં ગુજરાતી બાઈલિન્ગવલ ટીચર છું. હું ઇન્ડિયા થી આવતા ધોરણ 1થી 8 ના ગુજરાતી બાળકોને ભણાવું છું.મારી શિક્ષિકા તરીકે ની શરૂઆત નોવેમ્બેર 1986 માં મુરફી સ્કુલ માં થઇ હતી.ત્યાં મેં દસ વરસ ભણાવ્યું.ત્યાર બાદ હું 1996 માં વોલ્ટા સ્કુલ માં આવી, જ્યાં હું બાઈલિન્ગવલ ગુજરાતી ક્લાસ માં ભણાવું છું.મેં અહી ધોરણ 2 ના બાળકોને પણ 6 વરસ ભણાવ્યા હતા. મને આપણા બાળકો ને ભણાવવાનો ઘણો આનંદ થાય છે.મારા બાળકો જયારે મારી પાસે આવે છે ત્યારે અમને ઘર જેવું લાગે છે.બાળકોને ભણાવવાનો મને ઘણો શોખ છે અને એ કાયમ રહેશ.
